British Open 2014

Our team of seating & structure specialists, led by project manager, Chris Coles, have succeeded in completing the build for the British Open at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake ahead of schedule. This feat has taken them nearly 4 months of hard work to complete. Following the win by Rory Mcilroy they have now begun to dismantle their masterpiece. Let’s hope the boys can stay on course and finish the breakdown under par as well!!!

Supplier Recognition Scheme - Olympics 2012

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a licence under the Supplier Recognition Scheme, and have been given the designation 'Supplier of Event and Seating Crew (Olympic Venues)'. This recognises our work during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games. Our first projects for the Olympic Games began with providing general and skilled labour for test builds such as Greenwich Equestrian Centre, the BMX Track and the Horse Guards Parade during 2011.

Throughout the Olympic year of 2012 our work continued on sites such as the Riverbank Arena, the Aquatics Centre and Eton Manor, to name but a few. See our 'Venues We Have Worked On' page for a full list.

Salima On Tour

In the events industry January is typically a quieter month, however not for Salima! We have had a fantastic start to 2014, and are excited to have crew working across two continents. This week we have 14 of our team visiting Eindhoven in The Netherlands, and also have some of our plumbing experts in Russia. Our crew are fast becoming seasoned travellers!

A Star Signing for Salima

Salima NewsSalima Ltd are pleased to announce that we have been awarded ‘preferred supplier’ status from Star Events Group Ltd to supply specialist installation crew for their seating and mobile divisions.

Showing the two companies’ focus and dedication to this contract, an extensive two day training exercise was completed at Star Events Group HQ in Bedfordshire, where we supplied 20 crew for product specific training. The two days were split between classroom style training and hands-on building of specific grandstand layouts.

“Salima have the previous experience & versatility we were looking for and we’re delighted they’ve showed us their commitment to this training.  The crew worked diligently in extremely cold conditions and are now familiar with our unique system” commented Tez Sheals- Barrett, Head of seating Project Management.

Salima Ltd are looking forward to an exciting year working alongside Star Events Group on many world-class events, starting with the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May.

Salima back on the Olympic Park

Salima have once again been back at the Olympic park working with Slick to dismantle the tiered seating on Eton Manor. The venue held the paralympic tennis during the games and was one of the first Olympic projects Salima worked on. Starting  nearly two years ago, Salima helped to deliver the biggest overlay project the world has ever seen, and did so ahead of schedule. Once the Legacy refurbishment is complete Eton Manor will become the National Hockey Centre.

Chris Coles (operations manager for Salima) : "It's great to be back on the park at one of the first Olympic venues Salima were involved with and to be asked back to be a part of the dismantle is an honour. It shows that all the hard work and dedication of the crew does not go unnoticed".
